A Brief History

I grew up in Los Angeles in a comfortable middle class and very dysfunctional family. For the first 30 years of my life, I felt a little lost and sometimes very lonely. I had plenty of friends and lots of social interaction in my life, but something was missing. I had no real direction in life and felt like there were places that I just didn’t fit in. I was able to make the best of it until 2001. That was the year that my life completely blew up and ultimately changed for the better. I had no idea what was in store for me or how transforming and amazing it was going to be. That was the year that everything started to make sense.

For much of the mid and late 90’s I was searching for something to improve my life, to make it more fulfilling. I didn’t really know what I was doing so it felt and looked a little clumsy. Up to that point I had no idea that, for the most part, I was sleepwalking through life. From the outside, my life looked really good. I had gone to school, played and partied with no ill effects to speak of. I traveled quite a bit, I had a partner and I got a job in corporate America. I had worked my way up the corporate ladder and was making good money, but something essential was missing. Although at the time I couldn’t see it or feel it, my life was very slowly heading downhill. I was overweight, drinking, smoking and not eating very well. By society’s standards I was still in the “normal” range but come to find out later, this, for me, was far from good.

During that time, I started reading a lot of the self-help books, but in many cases they just got me more frustrated because I was not feeling or experiencing what they were talking about. They made perfect logical sense but something was missing. I had no idea that I had been unconsciously setting the stage for a complete life makeover.

In the early part of 2001 everything changed. That was the year of what I call my spiritual awakening. One day seemingly out of the blue, a friend who had been studying alternative healing modalities such as hypnotherapy and Reiki and had just completed her training in Integrated Energy Therapy® (IET), offered to give me a sample session. With some skepticism but nothing to lose, I agreed to the one-hour IET session. I had no idea what was about to happen. The session was incredible. It felt like I had been transported into the ethers of peace and opened up to bliss. I wasn’t entirely clear what had happened but I now knew what the essential part that was missing from my life was: Spirit, the Universe, a Higher Power, Love, Allah, Christ Consciousness, whatever you want to call it - I call it God. Little did I know this was only the beginning.

A New Life

After three months of energy work and in-depth soul-searching workshops, my life had already changed dramatically. I not only felt better but I couldn’t stop reading – one book after another. Now they not only made sense but I could feel it! After one particular workshop, I experienced what I call an immaculate healing. I had gone through a process of healing old traumas, forgiving the past, allowing love in, and after the two-day workshop was over -- I never picked up a cigarette, drank alcohol or ate a piece of meat again. The funny thing is that none of those things were what I was working on. I had actually planned to go out for drinks and celebrate after this particular workshop was over. This workshop had nothing to do with drinking or smoking, it was a spiritual workshop aimed at helping people with whatever they wanted to work on, even if they didn’t know what it was. The reason I call it an immaculate healing is that I didn’t try, expend any effort or deprive myself of anything. In one moment the desires to eat poorly, drink and smoke left and I didn’t have to do a thing! Within another month I had quite my high paying job in corporate America (that didn’t fill my heart) and I started pursuing my dreams.

This was amazing because I didn’t even know I had dreams or what I wanted to do with my life before this point. I finally knew what it was like to have direction in life and I started listening to my Soul. This is when it started getting really good. This is also when I learned that money doesn’t buy you happiness. I learned this because I went from a high-paying corporate job to a temporarily low-paying Soul searching job. And I couldn’t have been happier!

After a few tight years and a lot of growth I managed to also transform my career. In 2001/02 I became certified as an IET Master Instructor through the Center of Being. Shortly thereafter I developed a private practice as an IET Practitioner and Instructor. In 2002 I worked with at-risk youth in South Central Los Angeles and became a Mentor. In late 2002 I joined the Agape International Spiritual Center and began my studies at the University of Transformational Studies and Leadership (UTSLA). In 2003 I co-founded BeHold, an organization committed to helping those in the human service fields sustain their vital services through empowerment and well being. In 2006 I co-created Aum & Garden a metaphysical book, gift and resource store in Sherman Oaks, CA. In 2007, after four years of study I graduated from Agape’s UTSLA, and received my license as an Agape Licensed Spiritual Practitioner (ALSP). Also in 2007 I accepted the position as Team Leader for The Animal Kinship Ministry at Agape. in 2009 I began my four year journey in Agape’s Ministerial program continuing my study of world religions, metaphysics, mysticism and quantum science receiving my Agape ministerial license in June 2012.

It is my belief that if you are living your heart’s desires feeling supported, loved, empowered and joyful, with the intention of fulfilling your dreams, not only will your dreams be fulfilled, but within this lies the key to world peace. As each one of us embraces what truly and authentically fills our heart, then by the natural laws of a loving, harmonious and efficient Universe, the simple byproduct is Universal peace. As such, and because I believe one should practice what they preach, I have developed a private practice today that truly brings me joy. And most of what brings me joy is helping people release what does not serve them (doubts, fears addictions), and embrace that which brings them true joy!

In my private practice I work both one-on-one and with couples and groups using a blend of Integrated Energy Therapy®, Meditation, Affirmative Prayer in developing a Spiritual Action Plan for personal growth, prosperity and freedom. i believe the key to success is personal empowerment from the vantage point of your Soul.

I currently speak and teach classes around the World on metaphysics and spiritual science, including Integrated Energy Therapy® certification classes, meditation, yoga nidra, Divine energy medicine, holistic healing and affirmative prayer. Although my practice is based in Los Angeles, I travel throughout the U.S. and abroad offering workshops and speaking at spiritual centers and other venues.

In 2018 I took the position as Spiritual Director at Soul Center OC, a New Thought Spiritual center in Newport Beach, CA. Soul Center OC is an affiliate of the Agape International Spiritual Center. We offer weekly Sunday services and well as classes on the Truth teachings of Divine awareness and spiritual practice.
